Manicures can be found on nearly every treatment menu, and are often the bread and butter of many businesses. The manicure offers the therapist or technician a whole range of options to suit nearly every client. This course will teach you everything you need to know about offering a professional manicure, and includes a practical training session and assessment.
This GTi Manicure Course meets the Habia National Occupational Standards and covers the benefits of treatment, anatomy and physiology, disorders and diseases of the hands, contra-actions and contra-indications, reception, consultation, ventilation, technique, and aftercare.
The course is fully accredited by the Guild of Beauty Therapists, the UK’s leading professional beauty trade body, for membership and insurance purposes. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a full-colour certificate for a GTi Award in Manicure Treatments.
Please note: From 1st May 2018, if you are not already a member of the GTi you are required to join as a Student Member costing £25 and paid directly to the GTi.
When attending your practical training you will need to purchase your own consumables and equipment. Everything you need for both the manicure and pedicure courses are contained in the Student Manicure and Pedicure Kit priced at around £30 +VAT.

The theory test: Training materials are downloaded and theory module assessments completed online at the GTi website. You must pass all assessments before being able to participate with the course practical..
1 day practical: Starting at 10am and finishing at 5pm you will be taught all of the skills you will need to deliver a professional manicure treatment. There is no practical test. Instead we assess your understanding and ability of each treatment technique as it is taught.
Our GTi Courses are arranged as either solo or bespoke training which means that you will need to provide a model.
This is the background and theory that you study from home and then complete an online test paper before attending your practical training. It is easily completed with between 8-12 hours of study time. For some people it may take a little longer.

Therapy Training School is an approved training provider. This particular course is written and accredited by the BeautyGuild. Insurance can be obtained directly from the BeautyGuild. You will be able to practice as a self-employed beauty therapist or mobile therapist. Always check with your potential employer (or local council) to ensure that this Award will be accepted by them.
